I will be purchasing the parts to upgrade my system tomorrow. Currently I am using:

Intel Core 2 E6600
Gigabyte GA-945P-S3
4gb DDR2

I am upgrading to a motherboard that will support more then 4gb of ram (I have an extra 4gb ram waiting to go into it). The only thing I am not sure about is if I should get a newer core 2 processor or if I should go for a quad core.

My choices are between the following:

Intel Core 2 E8500 Wolfdale (3.16Ghz 6mb cache)
Intel Quad Core E9400 (2.66Ghz 6mb cache)

Which would be a bigger speed boost right now in leopard, and which do you think would be a bigger boost when snow leopard comes out?

Ok, just wasn't sure how well osx dealt with multithreading and if the faster core or more cores would be better.
