Hi everyone,

The specs are as follows:

NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
Intel Core 2 Duo t7500 @ 2.20GHz CPU
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG

just had a quick look through the list and mine is not listed, but i think that could be because mine is a UK only laptop

oh i see, i think your best bet is to find an American equivalent by researching your laptop's specs. Sorry I can't be of more help.

i have tried using the iakois 5i, I dont get any error messages as such, what i get is nothing in the list of where to install.
I think this is because i cant get microsoft manager to work.
What happens is as follows:
i right click on my computer and select manage
then click on disc manager and try to srink the size, but all it tells me is that the srink amount is 0 and wont let me do anything.
I have a 250gb sata drive and there is 142gb free.
From the factory the drive is partitioned, and has a D: drive that has hp recovery files on it.
Is there any way that HP can stop you making another partition on it?
I have even downloaded partition magic and that wont let me do anything to the drive either???
Really really confused now!!

Yeh I have a HP too, I managed to make the partition in the main HDD but I think was because was a new HDD, Vista just let me to use 20gb of 450gb @.@, they used 10gb to recovery, if you have another HDD I recommend you to install there, and leave the main one without change if you dont, you can use gparted, Good Luck

just found out that my laptop is a DV6680EA!!! muppet! lol
right, anyway, I decided to get rid of all the partitions, info everything, and put in the iakois 5i boot disc.
I think i chose all the correct options and i can get it to install all the way, but when it restarts, I get the white screen with the logo in the middle and the moving circle following itself, and then either one of two errors:
either the circle thing stops following itself (possible crash)
or i get a small circle with a line through it and the circle keeps following itself, but the system does nothing.
am I using the wrong distribution or am i doing something else wrong??
