Building Hackintosh - Kalyway or Official Leopard?
Here are my specs:
Intel BOXD945GCLF2 Atom 330 Intel 945GC Mini ITX MoBo/CPU Combo
Kingston 2GB DDR2 Ram
Barracuda 7200.10 ST# 160 GB Hard Drive
LITE-ON 20X DVD+/-R DVD Burner
First off, am I missing anything?
Second, I'm debating on installing the kalyway version of Leopard or a store bought copy. My biggest thing is I want this to work, and if a store bought copy will provide less headaches then I'm going to go that way, but not if I will have kernel problems with any of my parts (I'm completely new to all this).
Any advice would be great, or links to sites that may help with install.
Thanks and have a great holidays!

Are you building this? or your gonna buy this? if your building one, you better buy Gigabyte mobos, less headaches, and you can actually buy the disc, but you have to read about how to install it k? its harder then just install a distro like kalyway, about kalyway or any distro, they are OSX, but with some kext extra to make it work and some extra kernels and drivers to some computers, to fix in one normal DVD-R, they delete lots of languages and developer stuff
Anyway this is a list of mobo that you can buy with any processor:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4P
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS5
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DQ6
Gigabyte GA-EP45-EXTREME
Google them, about now read this to know how to install Retail OSX on your PC, good luck and Merry Christmas

so would you recommend simply building the computer and booting kalyway leopard? Does this allow for updates from apple?

Yeah, if you need any special program from windows, you can install Leopard and thats it, about updates.. so far I know the only distro that can really do it is iatkos v5i, if you dont have it or dont wanna deal with distros you can install retail and just press update
With the kalyway you have to a couple steps like:
Download Kalyway Combo Update 10.5.3 (google it)
Once in Leopard 10.5.3 you can jump to 10.5.5
To update to 10.5.6 you need retail or iatkos 5i like I said, good luck

But if I buy retail I can't just put it in and boot, can I? I need to run boot 123 and stuff?

ok, so my options are download kalyway, install, and patch for everyupdate
or
download and burn iso of boot123, run that, switch to leopard disc, then have a legitimate copy with no problem updates?
the second option, while more expensive, definitely sounds like the better option. Any thoughts?
