[SOLVED] Best OSX to Install on Windows VM and how-to
Hey Guys,
My first post and thread here.
I have a Dell e1505 with Core 2 Duo 1.66ghz processor running Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit.
I have the Windows Virtual Machine installed.
I want to put a version of OSX on a virtual machine.
At this current point in time, what is the best, most reliable version of OSX to try this with (I'm thinking Snow Leopard)?
Second, where can I find the files to do this with?
Third, Is there anything special I need to know before trying this?
I could not find a thread with my actual question on it (only VMWare questions) so if there is already a thread on this or if I am posting in the wrong place please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Adam

Use VMWare, it's going to offer far superior performance, especially as your machine lacks the VT extension cpu support.

Thanks. Yeah, I tried last night to do the VMWare install instructions but in Windows VM and I could get Darwin_Snow to load but the OS disc would never load. When i would go to boot it it would give me a bunch of errors even in safe mode and then power Down my VM. I'll try it on VMWare today.

Well, I found out my CPU did not support virtualization technology (Core 2 Duo T5500). So I had to install Leopard 10.5 instead. But I did, through the VMPlayer and it works perfect!
I do not have sound yet but I fixed the resolution and the platform is very stable. Networking is perfect too. It just runs slow. I put both cores on it with 2GB of ram but still slow. But I'm super happy as I figured out what I wanted and got the results I was seeking.
This is my 1st time using Mac anything (except iPhone) so I wanted to test things out and see how I liked it.
Thanks for the tip!
If anyone needs help getting this done like I did please feel free to email or reply to thread.
