Belkin USB N Adapter + Ralink 1.3.0.0 = no 5Ghz option?
First I want to thank everyone on this forum for all the postings which have
been an incredible help for setting up my first hackint0sh. I'm just putting the
final touches by adding the wireless N usb and I'm having an issue....
I installed the Belkin F5D8053 on my hackint0sh along with the latest Ralink
drivers directly from their website. It's works superbly except that I am *not*
able to get it to go into 5Ghz mode. I have two (2) WLAN networks here, one
for b/g (2.4Ghz) and another for n (5Ghz). I have no problems connecting to
my AEBS that's serving b/g, but when I try to scan for my AEBS that's serving
n it doesn't find it. Under the advanced tab on the USB Wireless Utility I see a
pulling to set the Wireless Mode. The problem is that it's set to 2.4Ghz and is
greyed out! I can not change it! All the settings everywhere else are available
for change except that one. I'm thinking permissions problem but I would guess
that I'd see a lot more options greyed out. Has anyone else seen this??

Update
------
I returned the Belkin F5D8053 v3.0 USB Wireless N adapter and picked up a
Linksys WUSB600N instead that uses the same chipset. This one works perfectly
and connected immediately to my Airport Extreme Base Station at 5Ghz. Just
stay away from the Belkin I guess!!
Thanks
:-)
