    Default Basic Motherboard Question

    Hi Guys,
I'm completely new to building so I was hoping you could give me some advice. I'm looking to build my Hackintosh bit by bit. So far I just have a Lian Li PC-8 case sitting here so I thought the next move would be to get a motherboard.

    1. The case has room for a full size ATX card.
    2. I'm hoping to install an Intel Q6600 Core2 Quad 2.4GHz Processor.
    3. I'm hoping to install a video card that will support Open GL.
    4. I already have an external Firewire soundcard (Apogee Duet).
    5. I want to run mainly Photoshop and Apple Logic.
    6. I would like a fair amount of Firewire and USB connectivity.

I've looked at the hardware list on the OSx86 site but I'm very confused, could anyone suggest a suitable make and model?

    Cheers in advance,
    simon

Having done a little research, these seem pretty good. What do other people think?

    Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L

    Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R

    Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P

    Cheers,
    si

All of them should work fine, get any one of them and you'll be ok, good luck

    Cheers icchansan,

But am I right in thinking that the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L doesn't allow any Firewire connection (I may have this wrong) If so I can definitely rule out this board.

Could someone please explain the main difference between the
Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R and the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P

Also the ASUS P5Q Deluxe is mentioned in one of the beginners builds (this seems pretty well featured) How would this compare?
