EDIT: I'm new with all this. I was hoping for a mac mini update at macworld 09 but never got it, so i want to build a cheap computer that will run OSX leopard. Any help would be appreciated.
I spent about 6 weeks struggling with my Phenom setup. There are two challenges to OSx86 on AMD. (1) Get it working. (2) Keep it working. For me, #2 turned out to be a bigger challenge than #1 between random kernal panics, and software from BOINC to Googleearth to Flip4Mac that would crash the machine.

No such worries when you go Intel/Gigabyte.

I easily install ideneb v1.6 lite with voodoo kernel for Amd Athlon 3000+ without any problem. My mobo is Asus M2v-TVM(Via chipset).

I have installed OSX86 on multiple AMD machines on almost all motherboards/chipsets (Athlon 3000+ to a Phenom II, Gigabyte to MSI, nForce, ATI, SAS...). Sorry to contradict, but (1) Getting it working is easy. Just know your hardware and match it up with whatever drivers will work; every distro of OSX86 has descriptions of the drivers so matching them up should not be a problem. (2) Keeping it working is as easy as a genuine Mac, seriously. With the exception of certain apps that look for Intel CPU on launch (ie Microsoft's Silverlight) everything works from the iApps to the ProApps, Flip4Mac works fine, as does GoogleEarth, even software update. Random kernel panics mean you installed something wrong (ie kexts conflicting). Just today I did a raid in WoW (ya ya) while downloading in Safari and Vuze with iTunes playing in the background and my AMD system ran cool and smooth.
I do highly agree with you cannot go wrong with Gigabyte mobo, Intel or AMD.

    Smile Voodoo User's guide

I forgot to mention that reading the XNU Voodoo manual (google it) really helps out a lot with kernel panics at startup and OSX86 distros not booting up on Intel and especially AMD, even with Voodoo 9.5.0. On my new Phenom II, I had kernel panics before the screen displayed the grey Apple screen with both my pre-installed 10.5.8 and every distro DVD I had. My solution found in the manual was simply applying the boot flag busratio=18 at start-up and everything worked the way it did (and was supposed to). It's amazing how many frustrating problems can be solved by reading.
NOTE: I spent almost 2 weeks struggling with my first Hackintosh many a moons ago only to discover reading 1 sentence was the cure to my headache (like magic).
