Arrow Alternative to Intel 4965AGN Wireless Card

If your Intel Wireless Card isn't working because the lack of kext. There's an alternative out there. I replaced my Intel 4965AGN for Aria Extreme N Mini Card on my Toshiba Satellite L 305 Series and It works out of the box. We all know how frustrated can be using a Hachintosh without Wireless connection, So I thought to share this with you. I bought mine on eBay for $35 bucks brand new (Just google it)

Aria Extreme N uses Mac OS X’s AirPort drivers and configuration tools, so configuration is completed in a few simple steps.Just plug and play.

It works with Mac and Windows OS and it has the same measurement as Intel 4965AGN (I don't know other cards).

I heard rumors about 10.6.4 update issues with wireless cards...did you updated? If it so, did it affected your wireless card?

I already order the Aria Extreme N and I was wondering if it was safe to update my Toshiba Laptop to 10.6.4

I did upgraded to 10.6.4 today and The wireless Card was gone, not working anymore, even I got KP after it reboot. so I guess the rumors are true. I re-installed Snow leopard OS 10.6.3 and the wireless card is working perfectly again. Until I figure out was is causing the Kernel Panic, I won't upgrade, The funny thing is that on the HP DV7t the update is working perfect. Anyway, just stay away from the 10.6.4 for now and let me know after the installation how the wireless card works on your Toshiba.

    Hi,
I did the 10.6.4 update on my i7 720QM and it's working perfectly. It even scores 5564 in Geekbench x64. USB wireless works as usual. I have not check the onboards (never loaded any kext for it anyway).

    Cheers

    Hi extraspeed,

I had bought Aria extreme N and I installed it on my toshiba L305 (I think we have the same Model) and the wireless card is not recognized by MacOS X. It says "Airport Card not Installed". I feel frustrated and I was wondering if you can help me. I had google it but no luck, not even in the hackintosh forums.

    Please help me Mate.

    Thank you in advance.

    Arrow Intel 4965agn wireless card

If you are running 10.6.4, the Aria extreme N won't work, for some reason the upgrade disable the wireless card. So, here is what you can do until the issue is fix; Install the 10.6.3 version of Snow Leopard OS and extract from the 10.6.4 DMG upgrade some of the others important files (i.e. Xprotector.plist, etc) and install them manually. I can confirm to you that the Wireless Card works perfectly on 10.6.3.

    Keep me posted!

You're absolutely right Mate...It works...Finally, I have wireless. I don't really care about the 10.6.4 update as long as I can have Wireless connection but I'll upgrade the other important files, as you told me.

    Thank you very much Mate!
