[Advice] What is the best Hackint0sh configuration ?
From newegg.com
Im looking to build a high end hackintosh but im not sure what parts work and what doesn't.
Im looking to spend about 1900 dollars.
I need everything, monitor etc
I would buy a mac but I just think maybe if some high end parts work I could be able to get a even better machine for less money.
Or can I build any machine and itll work fine with osx86?

I'm new and looking to do the same.
Any help in this department would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

my advice...
Here is some hardware advice for you:
1) CPU - anything Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad will be great. I'm using an e4500 now and it is great. Will be upgrading for a q6600 in the next few weeks.
2) Motherboard - I tried some ASUS boards and got some incompatibility with the LAN card. The best boards for a hackintosh are the Gigabyte ones. Use the ones with Intel chipset (P35 if you like fancy or 945G for cheapos). If I can recall, Gigabyte was a supplier for Apple motherboards in the past.
3) Graphic Cards - I'm using a 7200gs (reaaaaly cheapo board) and it is great for the basic hackintosh. Fast and responsive. For supreme compatibility, use something like a 8600gt. You can go all the way to a 8800 GTX if you like. Don't use the Intel onboard graphics, will give you lots of troubles. If you like ATI, there are some good boards too, like the 2600pro, or the new 3xxx series.
4) Memory - I like at least 2GB. I'm on a sweet spot with 4GB now, perhaps will try 8GB in a near future.
5) Hard disk - SATA is the way to go. RAIDs are a dead end and are only for the experienced hackintoshers. If you want more performance, get a Hard Disk with larger cache (32mb) or a 10.000rpm raptor hard disk.
6) DVD-RW - I use a IDE model from LG. It is a brand new and 100% compatible. I don't know if a SATA model will work.
7) Case / Power Source - Anything will be good here. Lian-Li have some good looking ones and Power Source with an 80%+ efficiency will make your day with the greenpeace.
8) Keyboard/Mouse - Must use USB for both. Microsoft keyboards and mouse are great quality/price. If you want to be an Apple purist, buy a mouse/keyboard from apple.
9) Installation hints - I'm using Leo4All v3. It is really easy to install and have a lot of drivers and utilities. If you followed my advices, use the vanilla kernel (untouched). Will save you from headaches in a future software upgrade.
Any questions?
