Hello all,

My brother gave me his gen1 iPhone that he had "got wet" and "dropped 3 times"

The glass is broken, however the phone charges, was able to receive calls, and some of the screen works. I had the password to get into it, but the bottom of the screen would not allow me to press "0" and itunes would not allow it to connect without unlocking it.

I decided to do a master reset and got the following error,

The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1604).

So my question is, can the software error be fixed, and if it can, do you think the digitizer broken? Is it possible for only part of it to work?
