Hi! Anybody know if the iphone 2g lcd will display correctly when separated from the digitizer? I notice there was a layer of liquid(oily) between the lcd and the digitizer during dis-assembly. The lcd only show bright white light now after I put it back together. So I was wondering what was the liquid and is it required in order for picture to show through?

note:**I'm not talking about the layer between lcd and glass**
note2:** before i cleaned that liquid off...I tried pressing down on one spot and i can see the iphone working(background and icons).
