[Wifi] Iphone gets warm with wifi, is it normal?
Hi,
I've noticed my iphone gets noticeably warm on the upper part (earpiece section) of the phone while using the wifi. This happens within minutes of using the wifi connection for surfing, email, etc.. The bottom of the phone remains cool. Is this normal?
Thanks.

Mine too man, but I don't know if this behavior is normal. I assume the WiFi may generate some heat, but never that hot, right?

I do not have this "feeling" of Iphone becoming HOT when i use WiFi (After a long period btw)
But i feel that when i recharge it... (Eletrical one with the ORIGINAL gear... the USB one i don feel that)
I think itīs normal..but someone more "expert" on Iphone can tell us...

well, again, its NOT hot, but definitly warmer than the bottom half of the phone...i would say it gets a bit warmer when using wifi than it gets when charging it...but, if you say yours doesn't get warm at all during wifi for some time, then maybe mine is defective....??

this is normal, all the electrical parts are insulated with metal, and then the rear case ontop of it, and because metal is a good heat insulator it gets hotter than your previous plastic phone, so if your previous phone was metal and was working hard you should of felt it getting quite warm, alough the battery covery pretty much half of the phone and touches the backplate so would get hot and make the metal hot
find this post helpful?
thumbs up
