Default Water Damaged 2g phone- no network coverage/signal anymore!

    Hi

My iphone accidentally dropped into the toilet before Christmas (eugh I know!)- I dried it out in a bag of uncooked rice on the rad for a whole week and hey presto it came back to life perfectly - well it has water damage on the screen but nothing I can't live with...that whole week without it I felt like something was missing from me!!

About 4 days after I turned it back on (after drying it out), it just wouldn't pick up any network signal at all- I'd turn it off it would come up with 5 bars then 1 then no signal every single time- I tried different sim cards in it too but no luck.

Now its completely useless to me without being able to make calls so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE is there any way to fix it at all?

I'm so desperate and I really can't afford a new iphone for a while yet

thanks so much for ANY suggestions on this as I'm just gutted

PS as a secondary question....Also in the fall the silent button broke and its stuck on silent permanently (but button is loose and moves on its own accord -it doesnt 'click' on and off anymore) but it does vibrate-I could live with this if it just picked back up the signal but any suggestions on fixing this too?

IphoneEntusiast the firmware is actually still on 1.0.2 ( I never got round to upgrading it!) and unlocked with the unlock.no method- should I go straight to 1.1.4 and then follow your guide?
    thanks so much!

possibly the small think white white that connects the baseband and antenna circuit is damaged... why dont u just try replacing it? it could have at least been corroded (I mean the end of the wires)
