[warranty] iPhone Repair [Apple]
Hello.
I have a huge problem with my unlocked iphone where it continuously crashes, sometimes even to the point where I can't even turn it on for a day. I have had loads of support from numerous forums (including this one), and have tried restoring etc... with no luck, leading me to suspect it is a hardware problem.
I want to get it repaired, and I was told the best way is to restore my iphone, remove my 'pay-as-you-go' SIM card, and simply send it to apple explaining the problem.
I want to know if this is possible?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Information:
- I live in the UK
- I bought the iPhone second hand from America
- The phone is currently restored and inactive, without a SIM card.
What troubles me is that I have heard (only from one person) that if I live in the UK, but have bought it from America, the only way Apple will fix it is if I send it to Apple IN America, which will obviously cost me more (with shipping etc...)

I think if you bought it from the USA, it should be fixed there too. Also, there are a few threads about this here, try searching. And regarding to the restore, search under "restore to factory setings". Good luck

Thats a good question?
I'm a T-mo customer, and want my battery replaced. I saw there policy about the 79.99 bla bla bla, But this means i have to send it to them..Being the phone is unlocked, and jailbroke, i dont know if it is a good idea..
I'de love to know where i could get a new battery for it, i dont mind doing it,to be honest i'de rather!
Anyone...
Yes i'm new to the site, and to the phone..But not new to computers, electronics, and tech. So i'm good with the hands and fixing small shit...
So if anyone could point me to i good trusted direction, that would be cool..thanks!
It's nice around here, i think i'll stick around...
Waiting to DEV to hit the big 2.0...Can't wait...

I am sure I will get flamed for it, but being a (recently as in today) certified Genius by Apple Retail, we have a system that will show that your iPhone does not have an ATT account attached to it.
You can try iFixit for a battery. They have guides and send you kits.

Here are the facts:
- Apple has records of which iPhones have been activated through AT&T. They can bring up this information based on your serial number or phone number
AT THE STORE or OVER THE PHONE

Mr Genius, can you prove us that not having an AT&T account will authorize Apple to not replace/repair an iPhone under warranty ?

That is not internal at all, it was publicly shown on the iPhone section in the Apple Website before they switched to the iPhone 3G.
