    Had that problem 2 months ago. Heres what you should do.

    1. Make sure you have a non-jailbreaked, non-unlocked iPhone. A restore is recommended.

    2. Go to an AT&T store and open a prepaid account(not a contract one), and tell them you'll be using it on an iPhone. You will pay an activation fee but you will be refunded COMPLETELY(meaning you spend $0) once you cancel the account immediately.

    3. Go to an Apple Store with the iPhone and prepaid sim inside, then talk to the lady and check to see if you are using AT&T. After you're verified as an AT&T customer they'll direct you to their Apple Specialist. The specialist will check if the iPhone is really damaged and check to see if it still is replaceable. If all goes well, they'll give you another iPhone on the spot.

    4. Once you get your *NEW iPhone, call AT&T tell them you want to cancel the account you just created. Make up something like my parents just got me a t-mobile and I don't need the AT&T anymore or something like that. Then eventually they'll refund everything + the activation fee.

    CHEERS! ENJOY THE NEW IPHONE!

    as long as it isnt "accidental damage," then that is step one. if they claim that the damage is of your own fault, then most likely they will not even replace it under warranty.

    instead of going through all the hassle of the prepaid stuff, just find a buddy who has an att iphone, put their sim in your phone, restore your phone on his computer so all his stuff will be on your phone, and then take it into the apple store. there youll have an iphone with a legit att account linked to it.

    no scratch or bumps on my iphone surface
    it is like just come out of the box and in 100% new condition

    @flavah
    aren't they going to check the imei/serial no. corresponding to the AT&T mobilephone no. that i borrow from my friend?

    thanks all for your advice

    any other tricks or advice?

    do i need the proof of purchase? i've lost it long time ago....

    Dude please, use the search next time before starting another redundant thread:
