So i searched many,and many times for an answer to this around to no avail...

I'm interested in buying a 1st generation iPhone from Ebay,supposedly bought a month ago(may 2008),and comes with a receipt....

The problem is,would i be able to claim the warranty if i'm not the original buyer? ,i don't have a social security number (live in the US),could i still sign up for a "Pick your plan" acount and use that as an AT&T account excuse?

there is some information regarding the warraty that clarifies you dont need to be activated on AT&T to receive warranty service, check this link:

Thanks a lot for the quick response,and help,i have already read those posts ,including a few tutorials,but my question sadly remains un-answered:

Would it matter if i wasn't the original person that purchased the iPhone? and if it did,would a receipt help at all?? in case i had to get an account for some reason,would i be able to use "any" random social security number to get a "Pick you plan" plan os of now? (June 2008)

it does not matter if you are not the original buyer, actually you dont even have to present the original ticket, iphone warranty gets checked by the serial number
