Default [USB] iPhone wont show up on iTunes Mac

okkk maybe a tricky one, my iphone wont show up on itunes and i get "this accessory is not made to work with the iphone".
It wont turn off unless you connect it to the dock and it doesnt show that its charging either. I cant get any programme to see the iphone.
Ive put it in recovery mode, got it to the emergency screen where u can enter that *#307# but even then u cant seem to do anything or get the computer to see it. Ive had it at the cable sign and itunes pic and still cant get the computer to pic it up.
    ideas??

    cheers peeps

Sounds like a Hardware issue if your computer can't see it in DFU mode.

Did you use 3rd party devices to connect/charge you iPhone with ?
    (Speakers with Dock, FM transmitter...)

    Nope, DFU mode:
    1. hold power + home
    2. in a few sec, red slider appears, continue holding til phone reboot
    3. count to 6
    4. let go power
    5. keep holding home until itunes detect it or if you hear a connection tone (like plugging in a usb device on Windows), let go of home.

Screen should be black all the time beginning at step 3

If itunes say it need to check for "... version on the server..", let it check, after that you will see the restore button. shift-click restore (Option-click on Mac) and select the 1.1.4 FW

You will end up with a locked iPhone on 1.1.4 and have to start from scratch with iLiberty or the program of your choice. After Jailbreak, Activate, Unlock connect to iTunes. The software will give the option to restore from a saved backup. Dont do it, set up the iphone as a new device.

yeah tried it on 2 different computers and i know my imac works ok with iphones cos i tried another.
I think its a return job if you get this message, ive spent all day reading forums and looks like when you get this message, either u air dust the connection between the iphone and the computer (the dock, usb cable and iphone) or you have to take it back
