    WhoElseButME,

Does your firmware match your baseband? I had the same problem months ago and realized that I was running FW 1.1.1 with BB 04.02.13.

See my original link here. The solution link is embedded within. However, I'm not sure if the files/programs needed are still available via Installer on Internet. I'm hoping that my solution will direct you in the same direction in solving your problem.

    Good Luck!

    Hey spook. Thanks.

Yes, it does. I was careful about not having a mismatch and thus down graded the boot loader. I remember at the time (a few months ago) there was the option of going with 1.1.4 with a fake blank boot loader or keeping the 4.6 bootloader and having a baseband mismatch. No, thats not an issue. Then again, even if it was there isnt a thing I could do about it; since the battery has run out and the phone needs to charge first before I can try any tricks on it!! :-)

moronta, just a piece of advice - switch off the phone when not trying to get it to work. Whatever little juice the battery has right now - its all you got! :-)

Another thing - I guess you solution was just for the USB problem. But my (and all others here?) iPhone doesn't charge with the wall adapter either.

I can put in restore and dfu mode and get the same message from windows that the USB is not recognized and has malfunctioned....iTunes does not read the phone.

I saw your post in the Flea Market Section. I assumed that you were getting rid of it coz it wasn't charging either. But since you live in the US, just take it to a apple store (without your sim card of course) and get it checked out. The terms of sale are pretty clear that your warranty is still valid even if you didn't activate the phone. Moreover, worst case scenario, even if they don't honor the warranty for unlocking the iPhone (or whatever else their sorry asses can come up with) you could get it corrected for a fee.

I left it connected overnight and it has a full battery now. I've been getting frustrated with the phone since i can't get a connection. I thought it was a hardware issue but i dont know what to think any more.

I will take it to the Apple store but I've heard horror stories of them not granting, voiding, and not offering repair since the phone has been unlocked.

I want to get it to factory so that i can go to them. But i cant since i cant connect to my pc/itunes.
