Can somebody points out the method of revirginizing an iphone (initially 1.1.3 and now jailbroken to 1.1.4) using exclusively SSH (usb not working). I am hoping that this process will reactivate the usb connection !!!!

I'm kinda in the same boat. Except that when I connect my phone to my pc, I get a message saying, "Apple iPhone Camera connected". Itunes will not recognize it though.

Have you tried putting it in Recovery mode, what've happened with iTunes?

How did you get the sync port replaced? Did you do it yourself or did you order parts online?

i am also interesting in understanding how to replace the sync port...Any answer to that question?
In the meatime i tried many methods including Bootneuer and re-upgrading my bootloader; looking at processes and trying to understand if by any chance it is the iphone which is locking the port... No luck so far.....

no i didn't replace the sync port my self, way to complicated for me. Got a iphone whiz to do it and he also provided the parts, charged me a small fee for labor and no problem ever since.
