[USB] How to connect a keyboard ?
has anyone tried this:
the iPhone comes with a cable, from the dock-connector to USB
you need a USB female to female adaptor
plug on one side of the adaptor the iPhone and on the other side a KeyBoard…
since the iPhone OS is OS-X it should be no problem to recognize the keyboard.
i'm unfortunately still waiting for my -iPhone…
enjoy

Heh , you test it and let me know how it works out.
I'm hoping an update down the road will allow for bluetooth keyboards.

Hi there,
If the iPod connector on the iPhone is like the ones in past iPods, then the iPhone would talk to USB devices like a keyboard through pins that may not be on the standard dock connector to USB cable that's included with the iPhone, which means that a USB female to female converter probably wouldn't do much good.
I do have an Apple iPod Camera Connector, which already has a female USB port and a full set of pins and I've tried hooking up various USB devices to my iPhone. The iPhone just says "This accessory is not supported by iPhone" and doesn't provide power to the USB device like my 5th generation iPod.
As soon as 3rd party applications get access to a decent set of frameworks the possibilities of the iPod Camera Connector get really interesting.

thats actually an interesting idea... technically the iphone should be able to recognize a bluetooth keyboard as long as the proper extensions are present in the system. it may not be that difficult to hack up a set of standard osx extensions to work...
