Question [Unexpected Event] Yet another Newton's law victim 1

I have a small hairline crack starting from the top of my outer screen(black area) running onto the viewing screen and stopping at the edge of the screen. Diagonally. The phone fell and is still workinf, the touch function works perfectly. I'm almost certain that the LCD isn't damaged. My guess is the outer screen has the crack. i can run my finger against it and feel the edge of one side of the crack.

My question is, how hard will it be to replace the outer LCD? I already found the part here:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ksid=p3907.m29

I've seen videos of people opening the iPhone but not really doing much with the LCD. Has anyone ever messed around with that? Will I have to take out the battery and logic board? And is the outer LCD(seen in the link) glued down. I'd rather try replacing this myself vs. Spending $200-$250 "replacing" a whole LCD that I don't need. Any ideas or advice?

Yes, it is glued down and is quite difficult to remove the broken glass without hurting the digitizer. Also, unless you can locate optically clear silicone-type glue and can manage to glue it on without air bubbles or dust getting in it, it won't look the same when you're finished. You can just glue or use adhesive on the black part to stick it to the phone leaving a tiny airspace between glass and touch panel, but it won't look exactly the same. The airspace will be visible.
