Your touchscreen has gone bad. Return to Apple for warranty replacement.

My iphone is unlocked, never activated with ATT, if i restore to factory setting, can i still get the warranty? Or will they ask for my activated ATT sim?

I'm having the same problem, but my problem is on the top portion where the first row of icons are in the springboard.

However, I can touch the icons when in springboard, but not in any programs. including ipod where the back buttons are located...

Oh, and i have an unlocked iphone too... so how do i return it for warranty?

I have no personal experience here, only what I have read...
The local Apple stores with Genius Bar will require you to have an activated SIM for them to test with.
However, if you restore to factory settings, you can return to Apple directly and they won't need an activated SIM. However, that way you will have to deal with Apple Customer Service and ship it to them, etc.
