i have broken the glass on my iPhone, the touch scree is fine the whole phone is in perfect working order, but like i said the glass is cracked... does anyone know of anywhere that sells this replacement part. i live in the uk.. but if i have to get it shipped then thats fine.

Unfortunately, the don't sell just the glass, you need to buy the $120-150 replacement screen (don't know how much in the UK).

You could do what one guy did and replace the glass with a piece of plastic.

Ahh..well, I stand corrected. Happy to be wrong, actually, those screens are expensive as hell . Careful when doing the replacement, the iPhone is easily one of the most difficult gadgets to disassemble.

What they forget to tell you in those auctions is:
1. The outer glass is bonded to the digitizer panel by a very strong clear adhesive goo.
2. It is very difficult to remove the broken outer glass from the digitizer without harming the digitizer itself.
3. Even if you get the broken glass off without hurting the digitizer, optically clear adhesive goo is almost impossible to find. Supposing you find it, it will be almost impossible to attach the outer glass without air bubbles getting trapped between outer glass and digitizer.
4. You can just use adhesive on top and bottom leaving airspace between digitizer and outer glass, but it won't look the same. It will be more reflective in daylight from the airspace.
