Hi,
We got this handset as a replacement through Orange insurance when my husband lost his 3Gs. After a fortnight he upgraded and got a new iphone 4s. We gave this to his son who has had it for approx 3months and it has just died! He said the battery went flat and now it won't charge. No battery symbol coming up, just a black screen! I've tried pressing the home and on/off button to reset it but nothing...nothing from being plugged into pc either and rebooting or from home charger (we've tried 3 now!!) Orange won't cover it for insurance or warranty as my husband upgraded and now this phone isn't linked to any account (any excuse!)
Any other ideas or is it an expensive trip to the Apple Store for it??

Its prolly the charging port on the phone. That happened with mine fortunately I had a broke phone laying around, switched out the actual port and it started right up after a little charge. If there was no extra physical damage to the phone I would guess this is prolly what it is.
