    Exclamation [Speakers/Mic] no sound

Suddenly my iPhone partly died on me. When receiving a call I cannot hear the other party, neither can they hear me. iTunes won't play through the speakers. VMnotes.app doesnt play, nor record. When I go into settings and change ringtone, it does play.
When plugging in headphones it plays well also.

I have a 1.1.1 anysim unlocked iPhone.... Do I need to reinstall the whole OS again? Is there a step by step for a 1.0.2 unlocked, virginized, updated 1.1.1 unlocked iPhone?
Can I just do a restore with the 1.1.1 software and unlock it with the known method?

    cheers?

Looks like you've got the audio jack-plug sensing syndrom.

There is many posts talking about this issue and its solution.

    Use the search.

Well, this is the only post I could find about the problem. But cannot seem to locate the switch that is talked about:
    I'ts a simple mechanical issue.

Don't worry: take a look inside the plug's hole on the iPhone, the female jack where you connect the headphones.

You'll see there's a little metal piece, is the "external audio switch", when you plug in the earphones the circuit close.

With a toothpick or a needle, you should CAREFULLY lift up a bit the little metal piece, and the phone's sound will be back. just one millimeter, no more.

Before you start you can fire up a song on the iPod, so you will ear the music from external speaker when everithing is fixed.

I've tried this with lot of iPhone, it works like a charm.

    hope this helps, lemme know.

    I HAVE THE SOLUTION...

i had this problem too until i searched around on the forum.

all you do is push the iphone head phones into the jack really hard, wiggle and twist them round. do this for about 30 seconds then unplug the headphones and play your music easiest solution i have found and worked perfectly first time.

    many thanks
    mitch

P.S i am so happy i have this fixed got it fixed about 2 minutes ago so though i would tell you guys about it.

I had this problem once, didn't work for me the first time but keep trying, also you can try pushing the headphones into the jack not totally straight and the taking out fast.

I know how frustrate you can get with this just keep trying and eventually it will work.
