[Speaker] blown? Not the low volume, but REALLY crappy sound.
Hy!
I was watching some YouTube videos, when suddenly after starting to watch a new one, the sound was awful (i was using the speaker, not the headphones). I thought it's a video problem and went out of YouTube application and listened to a song, the sound was as terrible as the video's! Is it possible I've blown the speaker?
Sound through headphones has not changed and is the same as before.
I know that the iPhone's sound is mono and it has crappy speakers and doesn't make good sound, but this isn't the original speaker sound. It's so crappy now that I don't understand the words of a song, even at low volume. Even the ringtone is messed up and with very bad quality.
The iPhone is OTB 1.0.2 updated to 1.1.1, then unlocked using AnySim 1.1.1. EQ and sound check are turned off (read somewhere that it helped with a similar problem)
Any ideas how to fix this?
I'm not living in US so I can't go to Apple Store Tech Support, but I could send to a relative to get it fixed there, is it an opportunity? I know that by doing an Sim unlock I voided warranty, but if i revirginize with the elite team's method, would they replace it?
Please, please, please tell me it's a software problem and there's an easy fix for it :p
Anyone had the same thing? Any ideas on repairing it?
Help would be really appreciated,
Ubuntzer

Did you check the EQ settings(settings-ipod-eq)by default it is set to off?

the internal speaker is piezo electric and therefore cannot be blown. Is more likly to be internal compression software gone mad. Do a restore!

I have done restores many times by now and it's still the same. Do you think that maybe baseband downgrade would fix this? Anything else I could try ?
-
why do you need to get it related to the baseband ?
you cant turn the volume too loud in every device, of course it will crap if the volume's too high.
if you still find it crapping even though you reduce the volume, eq may be helping you.
i fixed the problem by setting it to base reducer.
