seems like none of them actually have the speaker... how does one go about even ACCESSING the speaker... looking at the opening up of iphone tutorials, none of them even show it!

True, somebody told me that the speaker only comes with the 'main screen-part' which is the most expensive part.

OK guys, I took the iphone to a non-qualified repair shop. No other option as I live in Holland. Anyway the speaker is replaced and it works again.

100 euro, a lot of money though...

The replacement speaker I got comes on a sticky backing, and seems to have no real connectors or solder points, Im hoping itll be obvious once I dive in and see my blown out installed speaker (which died completely today) but any and all advice is VERY welcome.

Id even be willing to paypal out 10$ to the person who helps me most, I know its not much but its a little incentive!

My phone was purchased on ebay, in unlocked 1st gen, and the speaker has been crackly over modulated for weeks, then died today. Its not software, as it was crackly when I was at 1.1.1 and was still crackly after I restored to 2.0.1.
