Has anyone made any further progress?
I have not tried this yet, but I was wondering if this works for IPhone that wont power up at all. It was working, but the power switch was not powering up the phone. I tried to restore in itunes and now will not power on again...

Confirmed, so far done 3, 12 more to go.
I have been amassing a large collection of iphones over the last year, and most of them I have left alone as they would be dead, either shows the battery charging red picture, but when you remove the charger, or usb, instantly the iphone is dead, now everyone thinks they know that it must be the comm board, or the battery or this or that, they all know shit, this way of bypassing the circuit has worked and will work if you have the same problem, I will be doing some more investigating, to find a simplar jtag that we may be able to short rather than having a cable run through the system, will let you know what I find soon.

Try with a pair of needle 1st!!! Take your own risk and don't blame me if you get further damage your bricked iPhone.
Give me a beer for non-stop researching on this topic and report if you got success

Hallo garyz88
You found an alternative place for connect the red wire. I am looking for an alterntive connections for the white cable of the batterie. The cupperlayer for the white battery cable is broken. Now I am not able to use Home- & Power-Button
