    Default [Proximity Sensor] Doesn't work

A few days, i realize that my iphone was not turning the display off when i was talking and the phone was close to the ear (because i keep pushing the mute button).

When calling, if i put a finger on the up left corner of the display, the toch sensor stop working and i can see (in the dark) the infrared led working. So the sensor is working but i cant make it to turn of the screen.

I restored the phone and unlock via iliberty (3 times), but the sensor doesnt work.

    Can someone help me?

Do i have to change the proximity sensor?

Can someane tell me if theres an application to see if the sensors are working?

    Thanks

I dont think there is an app that does that, I would probably reccomend restoring again and take it to the Apple store and ask them to look at it, they will most likely replace it if something is wrong with it, as long as it is under warranty.

I live in venezuela, so taking the phone into warranty is not an option. I think restoring will not help, unless i do a revirginize.

    Someone else?

Oh, next time make sure you include something like that in the first post. And you could try revirginizing. I know there is an app that measures the accellerometer, but I dont know about the proximity sensor. I will look into it for you.

The "proximity sensor" is just a pair of transmitter and receiver infra red ledīs, like those ones used on any remote control and tv or other device wich responds to that control.
So there isnīt an app to access it other than mobile phone.
If you did restore your iPhone and the hardware isnīt working after this, probably revirginizing the baseband wonīt help you, so i can say it is a hardware problem. Sounds like the emitter is not sending the infrared burst or the receiver is under failure and canīt detect the infrared burst, wich was supposed to be reflected by your face when you put the phone near your head.

Thread's renamed and moved to the right section.
Please read my signature about the title format, thanks.

I agree with spektro, the receiver part of the sensor might be faulty and no software can fix this.
For now on, your only solution is to find a place to buy the sensor and have it replaced.
