Default [Problem] Bottom part of the screen unresponsive

Hello all!! I have 2 iphones 2G but one is having some problems... The main issue is that the bottom part of the screen (where the dock is) doesn't work.. No matter what screen I'm in, that part of the screen is dead, the keyboard works except for that aera, no icons in that area work, as a result I can't answer any calls... :S :S :S is that HARDWARE related or SOFTWARE related?

Another question I have is this... In Venezuela (my country), the main carrier (MOVISTAR) is an official iphone 3G seller, but they didn't sell the 2G one, since my carrier is supported by apple (at least in 3G) do I have to unlock a 2G iphone to use it with my movistar SIM?

Hi, I think is hardware related. So, I'm moving this thread to the right forum. Try the search function, since there are a few threads about this issue and you can find some info to solve yours

Regarding to the other question, yes, you have to unlock the iPhone
