Hello everyone,
I have got a major problem. my sim card is stuck with its yessim inside my 3G iphone.
I bought the repair kit online but for some reasons, after taking out the two screws, I was never able to take off the screen using the dedicated plastic tool...
I am looking for a repair shop in london which could do the operation in front of me.
(I am not really eager to send it to a repair company)

Best screen removal I have used is - get a hold of a suction cup, like the one that comes with a dash mount Sat Nav, that sort of thing and stick it near the bottom of the screen just above home button and pull, exerting the force so that the bottom comes away first - important as there are cables connected at the top of the screen.
Using a tool will almost defo damage the chrome edge and the soft plastic tools that come with the kits are a waste of time. The Youtube guides use this plastic tool and they are faking it as there is no way the screen 'pops' out as they appear in the videos, these must have been pre-opened IMHO
PS have you tried using the 'eyelet' end of a needle in the sim-tray at an angle to pull out the tray? this worked for me.
Beware not to try pushing anything too hard into the hole or you will break the eject mechanism for sure!
I ve checked the youtube videos but even with the proper tools I could open it with the appropriate plastic tool. I even tried with my dad and he couldn t do it either. On the videos, they make it look really easy to pop open the screen but it wasn t the case for me.
Regarding the suction thingy, I don t own a GPS so I can t really do that... + I m rather scared of using this technique.
I know i need to open the phone. I tried to pull the simtray out by grabing the top of the tray using a nail clipper but I ended up taking off the top of the tray.
If you guys would know a professional or would know someone who could meet me somewhere and help me out / guide me while I would do it that would be great. Prepare to pay 20£

well i contacted a few shops whose details I got from google but only one is prepared to do the work at a crazy price of 55 pounds.

the cleanest way is suction cup. if you dont' have a gps you can buy for about 10 euro a spare gps kit in every store, or better, you can use that little suction cups used in bathrooms to append clothes to the walls , without drilling holes everywhere.
price about 50 cents. works very good ( already tesed on my 3g!)

I d like to thank you for your help. A suction cup was the perfect tool to use! I was able to talk this yesim card out easily and I now have a working iphone.
You have no idea how happy I was when I saw the 3G sign appear on my phone
