What is the problem? The other person on the line can hear me talk but I can't hear them unless I put it on speaker or plug in the earphones.

I have the exact same problem on my 16GB 3G. I had to walk around with my headset attached to the phone or use speakerphone for weeks. I was tired of that so got into an unlocked 3GS. I still have the the 3G, but wasn't sure what was wrong with it.
I can take apart an iPhone quite easily so if I knew exactly what part to grab off of eBay then I could fix and sell it..
HELP US!
