Hi every1,
I just bought an iphone 4S 16gb. Today, when I tried to restore via itunes (10.7 version) then received the error message pop up saying that it could not be restored due to unknown error 36.

Please tell me what's the problem? I was told it's probably hardware error but they could not say which part. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Error 36 is hard to nail down. It can be a couple of things. Here's what I would check to make sure:
1) Manually download the latest .IPSW (you can find it from iClarified if you need it).
2) Update iTunes to 11.0.1
3) Ensure you do not have any lines in your hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) that point to gs.apple.com. If there are any, remove them.
4) Ensure you are not running TinyUmbrella's TSS server at the time you are upgrading.
5) Ensure you're using an Apple USB cable and not a third-party knock-off/cheap cable.
6) I'm sure you have, but reboot the computer, try another USB port, try another computer.
