Plug in the iPhone headphone, play a song, pause it, take out the headphones - should work.
Thank you for your reply, but just tried and still nothing, callers hear me fine but I'm having a hard time to hear them because the volume is too low, any other ideas about what causes this issue and how to fix it?
did u remove the transparent cover from ur screen ???
Hey, try to plug in some of your old iPod headset if you have some on hand. Does it sound normal now? If so, your iPhone headsets are broken! This happened to me 3!!! times already. Suddenly the iPHone headsets are way quiet.
Solution: Go to the Apple store and exchange your headsets. It sucks though, that they are of so low quality.
Ok so far I've tried everything, restored 1.1.1, installed volume boost and audio amp and still same thing, the problem is from the receiver in the phone, works fine with headphones or BT, I'm getting really frustrated with this thing!!! I already removed the plastic cover long ago and it was working beautifully until just a couple of days ago, what can I do? Please help!!!!
Mosquito,
I'm in the same boat. I have a 1.1.2 version unlocked with a stealthsim.
One day after charging the ear piece was suddenly very quiet. I have done these tests which have not fixed the problem.
1. restored, updated to 1.1 and then to 1.2
2. Tried an 02 sim without the stealth sim
Both these rules out the possibility of the unlock and the stealthsim being the problem.
Would love to know if anyone can find a fix for this.
Also does anyone know what the situation is with warrenty? If i retore my phone i how can i prove i ever found out what the problem was without a valid contract?
Thanks
Tim
It appears that nobody else but us had or have the same problem here, so many people on this forum looking for how to unlock instead of how to help!!! :(
I better go somewhere else looking for knowledgeable people!!!
i have a phone here in my drawer that ahs been up and down the road of updates/virginizing/restores and unlocks and has had a dead ear speaker for months now,
I have opened it a dozen times trying to fix it - i am about to switch headphone/power pieces from a cover i got from someone...
