So i changed the battery on my 2g, if the iphone is plugged in it will power on and the apple logo will show for 15-20 sec then power off, it the cable is not plugged in it wont even turn on. any ideas...please help? thanks

Maybe you have not soldered the battery on properly however it sounds like the battery is faulty as this happens with water damaged iphones.
