Did anyone else with the problem already tried using a 4G dock to power it off? I would like to know if all iPhones suffering from this problem can use the same trick. Could you also please confirm that when you place it in the iPhone dock that the iPhone complains and says the dock is not compatible?

    Thank you.

I have the same problem. I can put in on the phone dock to shut it off, but if I remove from the dock it restarts automatically after couple of minutes. Have anyone had any luck in cleaning using swab stick. I get the error frequently that this accessory is not compatabile with the iphone. I get this message where few minutes and it really drains the brain out.

    Same here.
iPhone restarts, and cant find any infos on the net, just apple discussions, where the last advice is always to take it to the Genius Bar. As I dont live in the US, it's not an option for me.

    Default Found solution

    Hi guys,

I've found a solution to the problem. My problem was identically to many's here, iPod/iPhone would not shutdown but instead would reboot. The iPod would however shutdown if it was docked. The arises because of a dirty dock connector. I've detailed the problem fully on my blog:
