    Default New iPhone Screen or...

    Hello!
A few days ago the screen of my iPhone started to show lines and different colors when I turn it on. When, finally, the iPhone was on, the quality of the image was very poor, it look like it hasn't enough power to show the full image quality.

Sometimes, I have got the screen to work by beating softly the iPhone, but more of the times it doesn't work.

More of the times the screen will just stay totally white and it only will work if I connect it to the dock.

I try everything I have found: reset, restore, update... but no luck.

My opinion is that there must be a bad connection somewhere inside the device and I'm sure if could bring it to an Apple Store I should get a replace iPhone, but, nowadays, that's impossible...

A made a video of what I am trying to explain:

    http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=WWqsQNkIV_g

Have anyone had the same issue?
Do you think It is just a cable or it's something else?

    Thank you

    Hello,

my iPhine has the same behavior.
If I reboot the iPhone, I only can see ttis white screen.
If I push the StandBye Key twice, I can see the Screen, but it seems so, as if there is missing the contrast, and if all the Icons had lost their color.

    Please help!!

Interesting, that my iPhone had the same behavior until nearly the same date.
    What provider are you using?
Just bevor this behavior started, I received an SMS that told me, that my EDGE Connection was not right configured??? (Vodafone.de!!)

I'd say that you guys are in trouble if you don't have the ability to send the iPhone into Apple. One thing's for sure, this is a hardware issue that will not be fixable by any simple means. At best, it's just the screen, and you can keep the repair costs around $200, but there is also a chance that it is not the LCD, but the display controller that is fried. In that case, the logic board would need to be replaced, possibly needing the LCD too if the damaged controller caused damage to the screen (it wouldn't be the first time). As far as the probabilities run, I don't know what your chances are because I don't happen to be familiar with this particular problem, but if I were you I would be ordering the LCD replacement first.

Of course, I am assuming that the Apple Store is not an option at all for you guys. Before you even think about repairing it yourself, you should go through the motions of warranty repair, crap shoot though it may be.

I had the same problem and the big problem is that i'm from spain.

Finally i sent the iphone to a friend that lives in San Fr. and now is flying to us.

I hope my friend could change the iphone to an apple store without any problem!!

    Hello,
    Mine seems to work now.
If I press hard the screen the problem returns... then I have to press hard again or turn of the screen and beat the back side and it works again!
I discovered that beating the back side of the iphone the screen returns to live. It have to be a "golpe seco" (sorry, no idea how to say that on English).
    Maybe you could try...

That would be like a dull thud, a good hearty thump on the back, yeah I can see how it's hard to explain, even in my native tongue, :p.

    Thanks thecompkid
I thought my iPhone was dead, but with a "dull thud" it comes to live again and now I can use it... carefully, but at least it isn't in the darkness of a drawer!

Oi... reminds me of when I brought an old moto phone back to life by hitting it against the car door. Can't say this is the best way to fix things but man, it's amazing when it works.

That should be great, but I am very far from an Apple Store and also, I cut the at&t sim in order to use the TurboSim
You need the original sim card in order to get Apple warranty. Isn't it?
