Default [lcd] [Problem] Grey lines on top

    Hi!

My iPhone has started to show grey lines not unlike these ones:
    http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthre...ght=grey+lines
but they are over the carrier logo and signal bars.
The left line is 4 or 5 pixels in height and several pixels in width. Then there are several grey pixels (almost a line) in the middle, and at the left theres another line but this one only a pixel in height.

Now, I live in Costa Rica so I dont know if it would be expensive or not to send my iPhone (bought last december) over to Apple at the US. Also, ive dropped it and it has some external damage around, dont know if that would compromise getting it exchanged. I just hope the lines wont go any lower , because if they do theyll affect the screen display.

    Any advice?

Not any advice, but I am experiencing the same issue and have posted to the other thread - http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49066

I am just commenting in order to let you know that there is at least 1 more person that has this odd problem.

I just went to the Apple Store here at Costa Rica and the technical problems manager told me that the grey lines would eventually cover all of the screen and that he would advice to sell it (broken). I told him that if it was worth it to send it over to the US for an exchange or repair, but he said that it was already hacked and because of that, the warranty was broken, but you and I know that there are ways to revert the phone´s to its´ original state. Ive noticed that when I just leave the phone and dont shut it down nor restart it the gray lines dont seem to move or expand.

I'm about to buy a 1st gen iPhone with similar problem for $80 USD, did the manager guy say whether it was an LCD problem or video chip?

    Thanks!
