Question [iPhone3G] [4.2.1] Stuck on apple logo after replacing speaker assembly

    Hi,

Got a free iphone 3G from a colleague. The battery was running weak. So ordered some parts to renew it.
    1. Back cover
    2. High capacity battery 1600mAH
    3. Complete speaker assembly

It took me some hours but i made it. Everything seemed to work: calls, wifi, touchscreen, all the buttons, however the battery showed the lightning bolt when i plugged it in, but after 10 seconds it showed the battery icon (fully charged) while its color was in red and filled up for only 5% or so.
I read this was because of recalibration of the new battery.

Anyway, i wanted to do a full restore. Baseband was 05.14.04 allready, so no worries about JB's.
I put in DFU mode, connect to itunes. I get "preparing the iphone for restore". The restore never starts on iphone and i get error (1604).
After that i couldn't get my phone past the apple logo. It doesn't boot anymore.

Tried google for fixes. Nothing works. Tinyumbrella, iReb, changing usb ports, deleting host file...
When i try to restore in pwned mode i get error (1603)

    Any thoughts pease?

It's getting worse by the day. Getting Error 23 now. Looks like the phone is dying slowly.

When the phone is not connected to the pc, the phone shows no sign of life.
When connected i can put it in DFU mode untill i see the 'connect to itunes picture'
The backside of the phone is slightly warm when connected to pc, which shows that power is flowing towards the battery.

Got it finally sorted out. Problem was the replacement battery. I found out by putting back the original one.
Even dough I bought a replacement battery for iPhone 3G, the APN number is very important for compatibility issues.

Here is a good explanation: http://www.hightechdad.com/2011/03/1...ed-by-battery/

The speaker assembly with dock connector, antenna... which i bought for 4$ seems to work flawless. Audio is good, reception excellent.
