    Default Iphone screen problem

i have an i phone 2g 8gb(firmware 2.1) and suddenly the touch screen on the bottom 5mm is not operational.i tried to update and downgrade the firmware but nothing changed.i read from a forum that if i put the touch screen sensitivity from 3.5 to 0 it will working again.still the same problem .i can use the slide to unlock and the 4 shortcuts 100% but if i want to touch below that is not working.i am asking if someone have a solution for this problem.
i used an application for sms that fixed my problem but turning the phone 90°(landscape mode) but i cannot make or receive calls because i cant press the answer there any way that i can rotate my screen 180° clockwise.if i achieve that it will fix my problem.
please if someone have something to suggest or any other software to answer or dial calls please inform me.
    thank you very much.

This looks like a hardware issue. Thread moved to that section
