iPhone on/off switch broken
Hi, I dropped my iPhone 2G yesterday, and now the on/off switch (or wake/sleep switch) is not working. All the other features seem to be fine so I think it is a problem with the switch itself. I have looked on the internet, and I can get the switch for less than $10. Is it hard to install, and where do I find instructions for installing a new one. Apple wants $199 to fix it...hell, I can buy a new 3G for that! Please help me, I'm afraid it will lock up on me away from home and I won't be able to reboot. Also, I am concerned about the battery life with it on so much. Thanks. I tried to explain to my wife that after 1 1/2 years, my iPhone has become like my right hand, I could not fuction well without it!
