Good news for you

Bad news, apple probably wont enable them until they are 100% sure 3g was battery drainer factor that s what they said b4, probably radio or gps things is also another software factors they want to sell

with new accessories introduced... more money more money....

good news if with jtag f/w is reversed, than there might be a way to enable these features, however apple probably has other plans for these features to be used

h/w or s/w companies to be licenced (=more money in) to use them

That is pretty f***ing cool! Excuse my language...

I just got a lot more happy looking at my shiny soon to be, implemented into my car, GPS iPhone! Let's hope that firmware's due to release soon!

Could anyone confirm the fact that it's already built in?

Nope it is just based on a french analyst report that is in assumption of the chip (spesific model) they used is known to have those capabilities, therefore iphone should have these capabilities as well...

So it may or may not be implemented for the iphone's infeneon chip...

Sorry, but you've forgot about the tranceivers, without transceiver implemented the DSPs inside BB = 0

Can't say much about the Java and MMS part but 3G is not firmware upgradeable because one necessary hardware part is missing, we discussed this already in another thread.

So just relax guys, you have a great piece of technology but no 3G capability, sorry.
