Cool Iphone 3G LCD Ribbon question

Ok, so i've been taking apart iphones and putting them back together for the past week. have gotten very good at replacing lcd's digitizers home buttons etc... the easy stuff. However, there is one LCD that is confusing me. I connect the LCD ribbon to the board start the phone and test it.... no issues at all, I close the phone and use it for a bit... after maybe 45 minutes to an hour the bottom portion of the LCD starts to flicker slightly (it's only noticeable because of the grated design on the bottom) if i open the phone and press the ribbon it sits perfectly fine and the issue stops. I've attempted putting a piece of small electrical tape over the connector to keep it in place but it has not solved the issue. It is a slight flickering and honeslty just bothers me it does not hinder usage and everything else on the phone is almost mint(i replace the case LCD digitizer and home button) Any ideas would be appreciated I'm just trying to avoid buying a new LCD as I'm in afghanistan and hate waiting for it. Thanks in advance!

** Update ** I decided to just order another LCD. I can hear it clipping into place but immediately after i stop holding it down the left side deseats itself, now even if I get it to seat correctly the movement of the ribbon while putting the screen back on causes it to deseat and everything on the screen fades white, Oh well so much for long wait times.

Try putting a small piece of foam on the back side of the screen to wedge the connector in place. You must have worn out the actual connector located on the board.
