iphone 3g 23 error
3g phone this phone has had water damage about a month ago.
i have take phone apart and taken logic board and put in a phone that i know is working fine.
itunes will dectect it in recovery mode. when i try to restore to 3.0 which is what was running on phone before water damage .
it keeps giving me ERROR 23.
i have tried with itunes 9 itunes 8 and even used itunes 9 and phone was connected asking to update to 3.1 and still error 23.
i have tried redsnow and program goes threw its whole thing but nothing on phone..
when dectected by itunes it shows itunes/usb screen... and then itunes starts restoring and then phone turns to white screen.
last night i had phone restoring shows the process on phone screen when complete but it would not show anything but the progress screen complety done. and then pop up error 23. itunes/usb screen.
any help.
i have tried firmware from 3.3 all the way down to 2.2...
redsnow picks phone up in 3.0 firmware.

Anyone know how to fix - have exact same problem, but no water damage...
tried everything, recovery, dfu, mac / pc, itunes 8 / 9, 3.0, 3.0.1, 3.1.2... Nothing works, same behavior in all cases.
Thx in advance

I have seen this same problem on many 1 Gen iPhones. i usually replace the comm board and it works fine. I believe it is due to a corrupted baseband.

Error 23. Some say hardware problem some say try flash wed firmware 2.2 or uninstal itune etc.
Try and use WINPWN,2.5 BETA. Use file CUSTOM_IPHONE.1,2_2.0.2_5C1_RESTORE. May be this can work. Any other option ?
