Default [iPhone 1st Gen] Vibrate doesn't work. SOLVED

    Hi there,

Have been looking around for this vibrate issue I am having but couldn't find a solution. I am currently on 2.0 and I thought that since the upgrade the vibrate function was not working anymore. I restored to 1.1.4 but no result.

Back on 2.0 now and I am trying to find out how I can test the vibrate function (to determine if it is a HW failure). Is there any command I can use to make the phone vibrate? I tried the silent switch and toggled the vibrate option on and off multiple times but it didn't had any effect.

Anyone an idea how I can solve or determine what the exact problem is here?

hi solution is new headphone socket loom which contains vibrator also and is all screwed to rear cover. This is actually a cheap part 15Usd or so. However getting the rear cover off is a sod and you will almost certainly mark it in the process.

Thx but this I am aware of.
I am looking for a command that can trigger the vibrator, anyone?
This is out there because of I have read somewhere that this was used for one of the first exploits.

    Ok, back in business!
Ordered the spare part, replaced it and ...yes it works again.

was quite straightforward but again opening the rear cover was a struggle
