Sorry to read that..
It seems that the possible solutions are to replace the LT4066 chip at the logic board or your dock connector circuitry needs to be check or replaced.

I had a similiar issue with my iPhone. The battery indicator always said full. I tried the hard reset, restore without backup, recondition the battery. Nothing worked. So after charging my iPhone all day, I let the Ipod play all night long. By morning, I had over 9 hrs of usage time and not a dent in the battery. Took my phone to Apple, and explained to the genius all my attempts to rectify the issue. No questions asked, they said it's hardware and swapped my phone.

I agree that is a hardware mailfuction. But what happens if i baught the phone from online store with no contract and new battery?
I can restore the original battery but after 6 month with no contract i do not think they will accept it
I hope to find someone to replace the LT4066 chip at the logic board or check the dock connector circuitry in UK.

Well the problem is to small for board £75, fitting £25 + £6 return postage. £106 total. I think is better to buy the 3g with end of my contract this november. I will probably sell the 1g in low price.
