Default Internal Phone Headset Speaker Dead?

    Hey all,

I just discovered that when I hold my phone up to my head to talk I can't hear anything.

If I press the "speaker" button or use an external headset I can hear fine, it's just the speaker above the touchscreen that appears to not be working.

The phone has not been bumped, dropped or banged in any way since it worked properly. I usually don't use the headphones with my phone, but I did listen to a few hours of music today. I thought that maybe something is wrong with the socket and the phone still thinks the headset is plugged in, and thus muting the speaker.

Any thoughts? If I can avoid it I'd rather not have to re-jail the phone and bring it in for warranty.

Has anyone else had this happen?

    Default Same problem

    Hello,

    I have the same error.
I use 1.1.2 firmware and 04.02.13_G baseband on OTB 1.1.1 US iPhone.
I installed AudiAmp and my sound was gone.
I have sound on calls with speaker and on ringtone settings. Not on textmessage sound settings.
I tried to restore to 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 with no effect. I tried to restore baseband to 03.x with no effect.
On 1.0.2 the Wifi is not finding my network so i can not restore further basebands...

Can plese someone help me with this problem???

    Hope to hear from you.

Thank you so far for putting so much work into the iPhone for make it usable us!!!

    Bye Helge

This is rather strange but my sound just reappeared a few hours after it disappeared.

    Odd.

    Just some info to share
I had a no service problem and i had to open the antenna cover in the proccess of fixing it.There,i had to remove 3 screws

When i removed the no 2 screw(its used to connect something to the logic board),the sound was gone. After putting it back, everything went back to normal.
