Default [Headset][Solution] headset mode only - No sound

A few days ago I experienced the same problem as most other people in this forum... My iPhone would not play any music without headset connected and also I could not hear anything when in a call... Additionally, I did not hear any "clicks" when pressing any keys...

I tried absolutely EVERTYTHING at no avail... the phone just would not work.

    THE SOLUTION:

Buy the headphone jack flex cable (I bought mine on eBay for US$14.00 including shipping)

The only pain in the butt was opening the phone up and removing the old flex and then installing the new one. Everything went great and as soon as I powered on my phone it was as good as new!

This makes me think that most of us were experiencing hardware issues that could not be solved by just plugging/unplugging the headset jack...

My advice, just buy the flex!

You dont have to buy from the guy I bought from, but if you do, expect to receive it within 3-4 days of purchasing it.

    Hope this helps!

Let me know bro if you could fix it by replacing the flex

Yes I have... and lost my numbers in the process too just because I syncd it with a different PC...

I believe dirt and moisture gets in through the headphone jack and eventually damages the flex.

Again, I am curious to know if this solution applies to all those with the same symptoms.

    Take care

Cool solution. Now the question is - I don't have sound from the internal speaker and cannot use my iPhone as a mobile phone.

If I simply open it and detach the headphone slot cables, should I expect to have the headset speaker sound again?

Well, I'm letting it for 3 weeks now and the problem has still not gone away. I really don't know what else to do.

You lil' @ss... I am NOT advertising anything!! READ my post!!

There is nothing wrong telling others where I bought mine and since I don't post pics that don't belong to me, I left it untouched.

Also, hw issues don't get fixed by themselves but, if they do (as you say), I will leave my iPhone with a craked LCD in my drawer for a couple of weeks instead of buying the replacement part!

Buy the flex from ANY SOURCE you want and replace it. Stop listening to those who think they know everything...

    Good luck
