ok i took the screen out with the suction cup, and it appeared to of snapped the cable at the bottom, which i assume is the home button cable cos it doesnt work anymore, and also the cable at the top left i think, which i assume is the loudspeakers as that is broke too.

Any advice where i can take my phone in the uk to get this fixed

EDIT: actualy looking at the pictures there is no cable in the top left so just on the bottom left near the home button appeares to of snapped.
cable 4 at the bottom snapped, the top part appeared to be slightly stuck to the metal case under the lcd. cant work out if i snapped anything else. Can anyone confirm cable 4 is for the home button and clicky/loudspeaker?

ps. i see no cable "3"

    bigfishman:

The only cables that connect the LCD unit to the main phone are numbers 1, 2 and 3. All of the are at the top right corner (if the phone is facing you with the home button at the bottom).

Look at the youtube videos, it shows more clearly where all the wires are at.

Yikes, I see what you're saying. If the cable is snapped, then you're SOL. Perhaps a replacement commboard?

Normally, cable 4 doesn't move when you remove the LCD unit. Guess your cable 4 got stuck or something.

That's really weird, but hey it's fixable
Anyway, you need to order a 3G dock connector & flex cable (there's black and white versions) The tricky part is to unsolder the mic and the speaker cables.

    Hope you can fix it.

This is the piece you need. From your link, it does look like the ebay listing does not come with a mic. You will have to solder your existing mic onto the replacement piece you get. Doesn't look too difficult. (The round black thing in the pic is the mic)
