not sure where to post this and this seems like the right place.

I would like to have a cable built so I can record phone conversations from an iPhone by using the dock.

We work in a recording studio and use a protools system and we would like the ability to do interviews via iPhone and record the conversation from the person we are talking to but record our voices via the studio mic NOT in the phone.

Only the audio coming from the caller is what we want to record from the phone... BUT they still need to be able to hear us talking to them even though we want to use the studio mic so it sounds clearer and not from a phone.

Anyone know if this is possible? Someone had suggested to have a custom cable made with a usb for power, rca connectors for the audio and a mic in connector.

This sounds like a great idea, however, it seems like we would get our voice recorded along with the person we are talking to.

Any ideas, suggestions or equiptment that can be used to accomplish what we are asking about?
